GIVING AND VOLUNTEERING
GIVING TO IROC

While participant fees at Indoor Recreation of Orleans County cover almost all of our daily operational expenses (i.e., what it costs us to open our doors) we must to rely on the generosity of individuals, corporations, private foundations, associations, and organizations to fund certain other special programs and activities. Our staff writes program grants and seeks in-kind support from local businesses and organizations, but it is YOUR generosity that makes this place very special.

IROC received its non-profit determination letter from the Internal Revenue Service in 1989; thus, all gifts to support the program are tax deductible under current IRS guidelines. Our Tax-exempt ID # is: 03-0316525.

Consider the many different ways you can support IROC:

* Send a check made payable to Indoor Recreation of Orleans County (or IROC) to our offices at 400 Quarry Road, PO Box 558, Derby, VT 05829-0558.

* Make your secure online contribution through Network for Good or Just Give by clicking on one of the links below.

* Make a gift of appreciated securities by transferring stock into IROC’s name.

* Make a gift-in-kind of an item on IROC’s “Wish List” (available at the Front Desk in the Main Lobby).

IROC also has a deferred giving program and will be happy to put you in touch with our pro bono development specialist if a deferred gift is more appropriate for your circumstances.

Whatever opportunity you may choose, know that you will be investing in the future of the Northeast Kingdom community.

VOLUNTEERING AT IROC

“The first time I walked through the front door and saw those little tykes playing indoor hockey, I knew this was the place for me!” (Comment from an IROC volunteer)

“I had a 6-year old ask me if he would be doing a Power Point Presentation as part of his after-school activities. I didn’t even know what Point Point was until I was in my 60s!” (Comment from an IROC Board member)

Your time is precious ... we know that, and we appreciate it.

IROC treasures the wonderful people who choose to give their time to us, and we try to match our volunteers’ talents with the many different opportunities that we have waiting for them. Consider the following possibilities:

* Working directly with Front Desk staff by becoming a Volunteer Ambassador.

* Helping with fund raising activities, media relations, or mailing lists and databases.

* Helping to manage the office and work on IROC’s business affairs.

* Teaching one of our recreational or technology classes.

* Helping to organize our special events and activities.

Whatever your particular talent may be, if you have some time and want to share that talent with IROC, you will be most welcome. And, if you can offer us at least twenty hours per month of scheduled volunteer services, IROC, through its Volunteer Exchange Program, will be happy to exchange a monthly membership with you as our way of saying “Thanks.”

If you know already that you want to be a part of our “family of volunteers,” please print out and complete one of our Volunteer Forms and return it to the Front Desk.
