ABOUT IROC
Mission… Vision … Goals
Indoor Recreation of Orleans County (IROC) is a multi-purpose community, recreation, and education center located in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom, just south of the Canadian border, off I-91 at Exit 28.

IROC’s mission is:
* To develop community-centered facilities and programs that foster a safe environment and inclusive programs to all participants;
* To improve the quality of life and develop healthy lifestyles for Northeast Kingdom area residents – especially youth – through educational and recreational activities; and,
* To offer its services at the lowest cost possible.

The Pronto Sports Arena
The Pronto Sports Arena houses an array of features, including three regulation high-school basketball courts, an inline hockey rink, a multi-purpose indoor facility for indoor soccer, lacrosse, field hockey, tennis and volleyball. A 1/10 of a mile indoor rubberized walking track surrounds the Pronto Sports Center, and is available to the public at no cost. The Warren S. & Jessie E. Mitchell Aquatic Center
The Warren S. & Jessie E. Mitchell Aquatic Center is a multi-faceted natatorium used for recreational swimming programs, swimming instruction and life-saving certification, competitive swimming, and general purposes. The pool area includes a four-lane lap section and features a gradual ramp entry; a 94-foot water slide, and a separate warm-water therapy pool.

The Fitness Center
IROC’s Fitness Center is a state-of-the-art facility containing 11 pieces of cardiovascular equipment (including three treadmills, three elliptical gliders, two recumbent bikes, an upright bike, a stair stepper, and a Concept II™ rowing machine). It also includes 16 strength training machines, and there is an entire section of free weights as well. Fitness Center memberships includes such regular programs as aerobics, yoga, Pilates, and spinning classes. All classes are available to non-members for a per class fee.

The Lloyd O. Selby Community Room
The Mezzanine Level features the 4,500 square foot Lloyd O. Selby Community Room, a multi-use area that features a 60” flat-screen television, a 700-watt home theatre sound system, and a “hardwood style” floor allowing for such activities as square dancing, break dancing, yoga, Pilates, and aerobics classes. Teen and adult dance programs are regularly scheduled for this area of the facility.

The Lloyd O. Selby Community Room may be rented for special occasions including such examples as birthday parties, wedding receptions, and business meetings.

The Technology Education Center
The Technology Education Center is also located on the Mezzanine level and contains nine (9) state-of-the-art networked computers connected to high-speed internet access. This space is reserved for classroom instruction. Local area businesses and schools may rent this portion of the facility for computer instruction, meetings or seminars. Additional features of the Technology Education Center include a 36” plasma television, wireless access, and other technological features. All of the computers contain business and gaming software, including the full Microsoft Office Suite® package.
